Participation in the course is only possible after a successful audition. The entry level of the Bachelor Dance is equal to the ultimate level of the students of the School for Young Talent. At this school, students are prepared for higher education in dance, while also completing a regular school curriculum.

During your audition for Royal Conservatoire Dance, we consider your technique, coordination, and musical abilities, as well as your physical aptitude and your potential for entering a career in the world of (neo)classical, contemporary, and modern dance. Selection Procedure

For the preliminary selections, all candidates must provide a video recording and a CV. If this first evaluation is positive, you are asked to audition live.

The video recording should show the following:

  • Bar and au milieu work
  • Adagio
  • Pirouettes
  • Small and large jumps
  • Short variations classical and modern
  • Pointes work (women)

Your CV mentions your age, weight and height, as well as your previously completed education, including the subjects. Based on this information, you may be able to get exemptions in the first two years. You must have completed your secondary education.

After a positive evaluation of your video, you are invited to audition live. The audition consists of a classical and a modern class. The director and several teachers and the coordinator of Royal Conservatoire Dance will be present at the audition. Afterwards, they decide about your acceptance to the programme, considering the skills listed above. The results are delivered and explained in a personal conversation with the director. In the case of acceptance, this conversation will also include more information about your previous education to determine whether exemptions are in order.
