The Royal Conservatoire Dance Ensemble
To enable students to gain as much stage experience as possible, Royal Conservatoire Dance offers a 1-year ‘Artist Certificate Dance’ programme: the Royal Conservatoire Dance Ensemble. Students from other national and international courses are also able to join the company by doing an audition.
In addition to daily lessons, the company’s annual programme includes:
- the Young Talent Project, the annual joint production with the Nederlands Dans Theater;
- a series of performances in theatres and other venues in the Netherlands and abroad, with repertoire including romantic ballets like Giselle, Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, neo-classical ballets by Balanchine and Robbins, as well as ballets by Hans van Manen, Jiři Kylian, Nils Christe, Johan Inger, Crystal Pite, Jiři Pokorny, Paul Lightfoot & Sol Leon, Lukas Timulak, Maurice Causey and others;
- Studio presentations and end-of-year performances by students of Royal Conservatoire Dance in the Royal Conservatoire’s own dance studios and Amare's Danstheater.
In addition to this intensive programme of performances, the curriculum also includes lessons in Pilates, body conditioning and yoga, as well as coaching in preparing for auditions and career planning.
Students who join the Royal Conservatoire Dance Ensemble from other programmes receive an Artist Certificate Dance. Download the flyer
