Music Education
The Music Education department offers a range of programmes both at Bachelor and Master level.
For the Bachelor of Music in Education (Docent Muziek) we have three streams:
- full-time programme
- abridged programme
- lateral entry program for people working in primary or secondary education (minimum 0.4 FTE)
This study programme is one of the broadest study programmes at the Royal Conservatoire. The training is ideal for anyone who enjoys working with groups and has an affinity with education. If you are full of music yourself, are a developed instrumentalist or singer and really want to pass on your musical fire. This study programme is offered in Dutch only.
At master level, there are two study programmes dedicated to music education and participation:
- the Master The Musician Educator is run by the Education Department
- the Master Kodály is run by the Music Theory Department
We also organise an education programme for all students of the performing departments, as well as for Sonology and Composition. In this programme, students develop important professional skills in the area of music teaching.
