The combined energy of the Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century and passion of top students from the Royal Conservatoire's Early Music department are the ingredients that make this annual project one of the highlights of every season.

For the 2023 edition, the successful formula is expanded with the very best students from the Vocal Studies department and members of Cappella Amsterdam. Shoulder to shoulder, the celebrated professionals and the eager new generation of singers and instrumentalists will perform Händel's Messiah under the baton of one of the Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century's favourite conductors, Daniël Reuss.

Over the years Side by Side has proved a life-changing experience for the promising talent, a source of inspiration for the members of the Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century, and a top-flight musical experience for the audience.
